In the Good Housekeeping Institute’s Kitchen Appliances and Culinary Innovation Lab, we’ve been testing appliances for decades, ranging from electric ranges and stoves to popular toaster ovens. This can include remote monitoring of your fridge from an app to address maintenance or troubleshoot issues, real-time viewing inside your fridge via built-in cameras or even the ability to make energy-saving adjustments to refrigerator temperatures and more. While some can communicate with other smart devices in your home or include a family hub to keep the family organized or entertained, what all smart refrigerators have in common is that they “leverage Wi-Fi connectivity to enhance your user experience,” says Jessica Petrino, educator & appliance expert at AJ Madison. These days, fridges have become more advanced, connected and feature-rich than ever before. If the kitchen is the heart of the home, then the fridge is its soul - without it, your breakfast, lunch, dinner and late-night snacks just wouldn’t be the same.
